Five children from Kuldīga Municipality visited the farm KOLUMBI this year as part of the annual Shadow Day: Roberts, Klāvs, Viktorija, Olivers, and Ralfs. We are truly happy about the interest of children in farming because children are our future. During the day children familiarised with the day-to-day tasks at the farm, helped with the work and asked many questions about beef cattle which made as really happy. The funniest question was: “Are these cows milked as well?” We answered that sometimes when there is too much milk and the calf is unable to consume it all. This question, however, had an interesting conclusion — we milked a beef cow and tried some milk. Everybody agreed that it tasted really good. :) We also tried out agricultural equipment and found out what ingredients are mixed in the mixer for cattle feeding.
Shadow day at Kolumbi also this year
